The Journalist is right! and ive read that corals / peach are best for blue eyes, purples *light!* are best for green, green / plum best for brown and gold for hazel! and create a HOT eye *i LOVE doing this!* by using a dark color *i like dark grey or dark brown* and shade your outer eye socket and blend a little under the lash line. then take a medium shade of that color you used and shade the whole lid. then highlight with a white *used grey shadow* or a champagne *brown shadow* and then use a little glitter...i LOVE this look! lol. very hotttt!!!
ps body shop sells makeup books?! i love their lip balm but saw no books!!!

eyeshadow is fun! if it's just an ordinary day you just wear neutral coulours, like beige or brown, but if it's a night out, you could do a dramatic and sexy look with dark gray eyeshadow on the eyelid, and then fade it all the way up to the brow line. If you're doing this you need to make sure your eyebrows are plukked nicely, and no stray hairs are still there. on the brow line you could then put a highlighter of some sort.

or you could simply choose a shade to match your clothes is you wanna do something crazy!

pale coulours open the eyes, dark colours can make the eyes somewhat smaller, but they are also super seductive. if you want fab eyes, try dabbing a highlighter dust right in the inner corner of each eye.(make sure it looks natual though)

On to the topic.. good make-up books; the bodyshop has one I think is excellent, and bobbi brown's books are fabulous.

hope some of these tips helped.. good luck, and have fun..! you should read allure more often honey.

you might want to ckeck out the books by bobby brown. her looks are really nice and she has great ideas.
if you have that many colours, the quality might not be very high. this COULD result in not staying put or harming your eyes.
if you have the money to buy a GOOD book, you can also go to a makeup counter, and find with the help of a salesperson one or two shades that are just perfect for YOU. they will also be able to instruct you on how to put the shadow on.
this way, you have less colours, but the ones you have enhance your eyes just right and won't irritate them . considering you only have two of them.
